I have used a traditional mop and bucket system forever, but always knew my floor was not getting very clean. I love the idea of having actually clean floors without having to inhale fumes from cleaners, or worrying about pets and kids on the floor. After doing some research, I settled on this model, and I have to say I love it. The first time I tried it, my floors seemed very clean, and it did not leave much water behind- the floors were dry in a few minutes. I put a new pad on the mop and went over the same area I had just cleaned, thinking I would see lots of dirt left behind. The new pad stayed pretty clean, showing me that the first cleaning had done the job! I have used it on Pergo and tile floors, and am pleased with the results. Below is a list of pros ad cons, but in general this a great machine.
Pros:
Lightweight
Fairly large water source, only refill every 15-20 minutes of cleaning
Heats up very fast, less than 3 minutes
Head is heavy enough that scrubbing is kept to a minimum
Longer cord
Very hot, easy to clean stuck on kitchen messes
Completely quiet
Swivel head, can get around kitchen table legs
Steam is very hot, could not hold hand under the head
Mop pads seem to soak up lots of water and dirt- you do not end up just pushing it around
Cons:
Head is fairly thick, would not fit completely under our kitchen cabinets (I think this will be the case with any steamer)
Cord does not stay in clip, tends to fall so you have to carry it, as you would a vacuum
Comes with a little cup and funnel to fill the tank- I can see these getting lost and having a hard time filling
The pads can not be put in the clothes dryer, must be hung up- not that big of a deal, but a little annoying as they take a while to line dry
Does not even touch grout on tile floors- will have to clean that by hand.
